This little drum holds a big sound. It is a smaller version of the traditional drums played at weddings, harvest celebrations, and royal ceremonies across Uganda. The body is carved from a single piece of soft musizi wood and topped with cured goat or antelope skin. A local craftsman tightens the skin using wooden pegs and rope made from twisted banana fiber. When you tap it with your palm, it makes a warm, deep thump that feels like a heartbeat. Tourists buy these as souvenirs for children, music lovers, or anyone who wants to carry a piece of Ugandan rhythm back home.
